OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

  • International and 1st-generation students are unfamiliar with US academic and work culture, social norms and customs. Add the barriers of language, religion, financial uncertainty, responsibilities “back home” and frustratingly high Visa-denial rates for studying in the US and the challenges to earning a US university degree can seem insurmountable.

  • GEI provides ongoing transitional services and personalized support to mitigate barriers to educational opportunity. GEI programming helps participants build confidence integrating into various US systems; GEI Advisors help students navigate the university and culture of work and significantly – our scholarships provide financial help, holistically, supporting multiple areas of student life.

  • Our first fundraiser, “GEI-NYC” introduces an enticing adventure: a weekend trip to New York City. Yet, this isn't your run-of-the-mill vacation. It's an immersive experience designed to ignite curiosity and foster learning. Led by a collegiate-level educator and joined by captivating guest speakers, participants will embark on a journey through the city's vibrant streets, engaging in thought-provoking discussions that unveil the hidden gems and untold stories of this iconic metropolis.
